School Author Visit and Book Program
Bringing Books, Joy, and Powerful Messages to Students
Every student deserves meaningful access to books and early literacy experiences that build confidence, curiosity, and academic momentum.
Our School Author Visit and Book Program increases access to books while strengthening literacy engagement and student connection to reading.
A live, interactive presentation brings the story to life. Every child receives a copy of the featured book to take home. For some students, this may be the first book they have ever owned.
The program supports reading motivation and comprehension while reinforcing social emotional development through age-appropriate discussions on leadership, kindness, empathy, generosity, self-worth, and personal voice.
By combining book ownership with a live author experience, the program strengthens engagement, affirms identity, and helps students see themselves as capable learners and contributors whose ideas matter.
This program is available to schools nationwide. Sponsorship support allows us to remove financial barriers and bring this experience to under-resourced elementary schools that may not otherwise have access to author visits or book ownership.
Each visit includes:
• An engaging author presentation tailored to the school’s schedule, whether classroom visits, grade-level sessions, or full assemblies
• A free copy of a book for every student to take home
• In some cases, additional copies for school libraries or classrooms to ensure ongoing access
This program provides a joyful, affirming literacy experience that supports reading engagement, fosters kindness and empathy, and expands access to books and author interactions that many students may not otherwise experience.

About Mike Brown
Mike is a speaker, author, and founder of Soulstir, a mission-driven publishing company. He was the first Black student to serve as the iconic Notre Dame Leprechaun. Known for his high-energy presence and soul-stirring storytelling, he uses books and live experiences to help people recognize their worth and stir up the gifts within them to impact lives.
